A Letter from Our Director

When we launched Foster Greatness, we held a belief that felt radical to some: that community, belonging, and lifelong support aren't optional. They aren't nice-to-haves for those who have experienced foster care. They are the foundation of any potential to build and sustain a meaningful life.

We know this because we've seen it. We've heard time and again about the power that just one person can have in a child's life. That one consistent person. That one believer.

But at Foster Greatness, we dared to ask a bigger question: What could happen if that one person became a whole community?

This year, we started to find out.

In 2025, the Foster Greatness Community grew in ways we only ever imagined. We saw:

  • Our Community expand by more than 1,000 new members—each one a reminder that no one should navigate this journey alone.
  • Our first formal partnerships take root, connecting our members with opportunities and support we couldn't provide on our own.
  • Hundreds of resource requests fulfilled through our peer-coaching support.
  • Former foster youth and alumni stepping up to advocate for change, proving that those closest to the problem are also closest to the solution.

None of this happened by accident. It happened through community.

What began as a vision where former foster youth leaders imagined a lifelong network of support has grown into something far greater. A series of endless possibilities. Real, measurable transformation. And a future where no one exits foster care without somewhere to belong. A future where “aging out” now means “aging into” something lifelong and life changing.

This report is a snapshot of that growth. But more than that, it's a thank you. To every member, every partner, and every believer who has shown us what community can do.

As a former foster youth myself, I know we could not do this without you.

Building Belonging

Foster youth are among the most isolated populations in the country. We're changing that — one connection at a time.

I aged out at 18 years old, Christmas Day, with nowhere to go, no money in my pocket and no idea what to do. It was a very lonely time. This is when I found Foster Greatness and One Simple Wish. It felt like a dream come true to find people who actually cared and wanted to help me achieve my goals. Having a support system like FG has given me hope again.

When I arrived at the Mother's Day celebration with my son, I felt that it was a very caring and thoughtful community that truly celebrated mothers. It wasn't just a place with food and sandwiches — it was a space where moms were seen, valued, and uplifted.

As someone who struggles financially, it's been hard trying to stay on top of even the basic things like hygiene which can get surprisingly expensive. But thanks to the support of Foster Greatness and the gift cards they've provided, I've been able to take care of my well-being without feeling so overwhelmed.

Our Stories Matter

When foster youth tell their stories, they reclaim their narrative — and inspire others to do the same.

Pilot Program

The Storytellers Collective

In 2025, we launched a first-of-its-kind program training foster youth to own their narratives. Professional media training, premium storyteller kits, and a national platform — all designed to turn lived experience into advocacy.

“As a former foster youth, it's rare to find spaces where your story isn't just listened to but it's respected and uplifted. They didn't just ask me to share my story — they gave me the tools to shape it.”

Delaware Adopts the Storytelling Companion Statewide

Through her involvement with the Storytellers Collective, Taylor co-created the Storytelling Companion and shared it with partners across Delaware's child welfare system — including the Division of Family Services, Office of the Child Advocate, and Child Protection Accountability Commission.

The State of Delaware will now provide the Storytelling Companion to every young person entering care and beginning Independent Living Services.

“Knowing that youth will receive this resource early in their journey fills me with deep joy and hope. It means the next generation will not have to search for a starting point — they will already have one. My heart is full knowing they will be empowered to own their narratives, advocate for change, and step into their greatness with confidence and support.”

7 storytellers in our pilot. With your support, we can train the next generation of foster youth advocates — giving them the platform, tools, and community to turn lived experience into systemic change.

Fiscal Sponsorship

National Network for Fostering Sibling Connections

In 2025, Foster Greatness brought on the National Network for Fostering Sibling Connections (NNFSC) as a program under fiscal sponsorship — an investment in lived experience leadership and a commitment to ensuring sibling relationships are no longer treated as optional in foster care.

Founded by Lily Colby, Esq., NNFSC built a national movement in its first year: convening monthly national calls, training 500+ professionals, launching the nation's first Sibling Connections Healing Circles, hosting a National Symposium in Sacramento, and partnering with the American Bar Association on 50-state legal research.

An estimated 200,000 foster youth are separated from at least one sibling. NNFSC is turning laws on the books into real-world practice — equipping lawyers, judges, social workers, and caregivers with the tools to keep siblings connected.

“I met my sister for the first time when I was 19 years old. We grew up in the same area but knew nothing about each other. That's not a rare story. It's happening to siblings in foster care across the country every single day. When I learned about the work NNFSC was doing to change that, I knew they belonged within Foster Greatness. I'm proud to support a network that's fighting to keep siblings connected, because every child in care deserves the chance to know their brothers and sisters.”

A Personal Mission

Isabel Stasa, Director of Foster Greatness, was separated from her two youngest siblings when she entered foster care at age 13. She never shared a home with them again. Years later, a chance encounter in a restaurant revealed that one of her siblings had been adopted, relocated, and given a completely new name — information she had never been told. Isabel's lived experience and policy expertise laid the foundation for the fiscal sponsorship that launched NNFSC in 2025.

200,000 siblings separated. Your support helps NNFSC train advocates, develop legal tools, and build the movement to keep brothers and sisters connected.
